Write your future

“Change your life today. Don’t gamble on the future, act now, without delay.”

― Simone de Beauvoir, writer

It’s easy to make excuses not to write a will. It’s even easier to make wrong assumptions about what will happen to your assets or loved ones when you’re no longer around. Sadly, some people put off thinking about it until it’s too late.

That’s where I come in. I aim to make writing a will as simple as possible by providing a professional, friendly service. As a legacy planner with Maplebrook Wills, I provide accurate and up-to-date legal information. I see trust as vital to building good working relationships with clients.

I’ve lived in Bristol and Bath for over 20 years – currently I live with my wife in Totterdown in South Bristol. I see clients across the city and beyond, visiting Bedminster, Keynsham, Filton, Clifton, Stoke Gifford, Longwell Green, Emersons Green, Redland, Westbury-on-Trym and Bath.

I’m dedicated to making sure that your wishes will be carried out when the time comes, giving you peace of mind. I’ll help you plan what happens to your assets – both before and after death – to protect them for the benefit of your loved ones.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Far from it. Every family is different, with unique personal and financial circumstances. Only by sitting down with you and discussing your objectives can I help you make informed decisions and deliver a will that’s tailored to your requirements.

The key is asking the right questions. I’ve had plenty of practice, thanks to my previous career as a journalist with BBC magazines. I interviewed hundreds of people over the years, including celebrities like Sir Patrick Moore and Sven-Goran Eriksson, and wrote about complex topics such as space exploration and particle physics.

Today, I provide wills and related estate-planning products including Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), prepaid funeral plans and trusts. LPAs are legal documents that enable trusted people to make decisions on your behalf, while property trusts protect your biggest asset – your home.

I’m happy to help with wider legacy planning issues too, including inheritance tax, assessment of care fees, and estate planning for landlords with buy-to-let properties. If I can’t help, I’ll put you in touch with an expert who can.

I see clients in the comfort of their own homes, offering evening appointments for the convenience of working couples. If you prefer, you can see me in my office in the [HERE] building on Bath Road, just five minutes’ drive from Temple Meads railway station.

The first meeting is free and there’s no obligation – you only pay if you wish to proceed.

Clients often tell me that getting a will lifts a huge weight off their shoulders because it removes their fears about the future. So don’t delay – contact me today.
